The Woven Wellbeing Wrap (kete) is a unique, eco-friendly gift with care, compassion and love woven into every stage of its creation: from initial concept, design to manufacturing, careful selection of the contents, and the recycled and eco-friendly packaging.
Environmentally friendly
Every step of the process of making this has been environmentally friendly.
- The fur on the outside is made from recycled plastic bottles;
- the interior is recycled fabric;
- the fabric printing (dye sublimation) uses no water;
- the soaps are environmentally friendly; the candles are natural soy;
- the internal packaging is biodegradable; external postage packing is 80% recycled, and all the contents are recyclable.
The beginning (whakapapa)
Two sisters, Nicola and Fiona, on opposite sides of the world, decided to create something meaningful and kind that could positively impact others - with aroha/love designed into every step. They learned about supporting each other and others from their beautiful mum, and both sisters entered social care careers.
The core idea was a gift that was designed, assembled, and gifted with love that would be retained and cherished, with care for the environment in every step of the design. The contents are made with time and care, and wellbeing is ‘woven’ into every aspect - both personal and environmental.
The making of with Purnaa
The making of with Purnaa
From the beginning, the wrap had to be environmentally friendly, and if this was not possible, we would not have proceeded with the project. Purnaa (an award-winning ethical manufacturer) sourced materials to make it happen.
A small team of women from Purnaa was assigned to our project, and each person took the product step-by-step from a collection of pieces to the finished Woven Wellbeing Wrap, sewing love into every one (their words).
The design concept was that the kete could be bought as a gift for someone, and you could personlise it further before gifting, using the appreciation cards or putting other precious items into the interior pockets.
The appreciation cards were designed for you to write a personal message to whomever you are gifting to, sharing something you are grateful for or appreciate about them. This makes the gift uniquely tailored and personalised for them.
The recipient will have the joy and appreciation of a personalised gift, and once the products are used can fill the pockets with their precious items using the kete as a soft “keepsake box”.
